TAKING SMALL STEPS TOWARDS STRESS-FREE HOME LEARNING
It is very crucial to set up a routine in the early years of your child’s life. However, this is a subtle process in which an unstructured day transforms into a structured one.
At this juncture, rather than feeling intimidated, we would like you to understand the whole process of ‘change’ is continuous and will eventually mark its prominence. The routine does bring consistency to your child’s life.
So, let’s go easy over it…
While we build this up, remember appreciating and acknowledging the smallest step taken towards it by your child, this works incredible wonders in motivating our little champs!
Let’s take a look at, how to go about it…
1 - Getting a clear idea about the day
What better than a tiny winy planner to organize your and your child’s day. But before you get to that, think about your day. Find a time when you will be able to spend 30 minutes of uninterrupted, tension-free time with your child. It could be any time of the day that works for you and your child equally.
2 - Create a Plan
Create a simple plan on paper and hang it somewhere you and your child will see. Start from something really simple. Draw a week calendar, mark just the learning times. Do not go too complicated like a school timetable! Keep it super simple.
3 - Be Flexible!
It would be better to NOT to confine ourselves into rigid time frames. [If you already have set one, please continue with the same]. Be ready to change things around. Do not give yourself too much stress over keeping the exact timelines.
4 - Set up Reminders
To get accustomed to the newly built routine and not to miss out on the activity time, you can always block your calendar, set up an alarm, remind yourself in all the ways, to make it happen [preferably, a fixed time would be good]. As humans, we always need cues to get to a schedule.
